Well-being at the museum: examples of good practice projects for Alzheimer’s and those who care for them
On the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day, Wednesday, October 1, the Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala Foundation organizes the conference Well-being at the Museum: Examples of Good Practices of Projects for Alzheimer’s and Those Who Care for Them, a moment of reflection and open discussion for cultural operators, healthcare professionals, and the public.
The event will be held at the Sala Sant’Ansano starting at 3:30 PM, with presentations by experts in the museum, academic, and social-health fields who will share experiences of projects aimed at improving the well-being of people with dementia through art, culture, and relationships.
Testimonies that show how social prescription is the way forward to guide a new perspective of care and fight social isolation.
The museum is part of the MTA – Tuscan Museums for Alzheimer’s network, which carries out projects aimed at people with dementia and their caregivers. The Embrace of Art is the initiative that uses the museum heritage to stimulate memory, creativity, and inclusion of people with Alzheimer’s and their families.
