The series returns to the Museum #IncontriallaScala: Thursday, December 18 at 5:30 pm, in the Sala Sant’Ansano, the book Medioevo che crea. Innovare, inventare, sperimentare nell’Italia dei secoli X-XIV, edited by Franco Franceschi, Paolo Nanni, and Gabriella Piccinni, published by Laterza.
Joining the authors will be: Mario Prignano, journalist and essayist, and Roberta Mucciarelli, Professor of Medieval History at the University of Siena.
The volume offers an innovative reading of the Middle Ages between the 10th and 14th centuries, showing how this period, often considered stagnant and backward, was instead characterized by creativity, innovation, and experimentation. From the organization of cities and the landscape to economic structures and financial instruments, and up to cultural and social phenomena, the book presents a dynamic and surprising Middle Ages, thanks to the contributions of leading Italian and international medievalists.
