Thursday, September 18 at 5:30 PM, Santa Maria della Scala hosts a new event in the #IncontriallaScala series, dedicated to the presentation of the book Museology and Perception. From the Contemplation of Beauty to the Aesthetic Experience, written by Domenico Piraina and Maurizio Vanni and published by Pacini Editore.
The volume offers a current and stimulating reflection on the role of the contemporary museum, in light of the new ICOM definition that pairs the term exhibits with interprets. This change is not only semantic but substantial: it places the person, their emotions, and their cognitive and aesthetic processes at the center of museum planning.
In a museum context, to interpret today means to design, curate, and communicate content in a participatory way, with original paths that engage a wide and diverse audience. From neuroaesthetics to exhibition strategy, the text addresses fundamental topics for building cultural experiences that speak to the visitor, stimulating their emotional intelligence and leaving a lasting imprint.
Joining the author are Maurizio Vanni, Museologist, University of Pisa:
Moor Gianluca Balocco, Visual artist, specialist in digital dimensions and artificial intelligence
Ermanno Bonomi, Sociologist, University of Pisa
Alfonso Maurizio Iacono, Professor of Theory and History of Philosophical Systems, University of Pisa
Simone Rossi, Clinical neurophysiologist and Professor of Neurology, University of Siena
Carolina Taddei, Art historian, coordinator of the museum network of the Fondazione Musei Senesi
