BETWEEN FAIRYTALE AND BOTANICS IN BLUE

Between Fairy Tale and Botany in Blue, a workshop dedicated to the dialogue between children's literature, botany, and cyanotype (a photographic technique that uses sunlight to create images). An immersive event aimed at an adult audience, offering the opportunity to deepen one’s knowledge of illustrated storytelling starting from the botanical settings of some fairy tales from the Western tradition. This day is part of the program of the “EduCarSi” project by the Municipality of Siena, promoted and funded by the Department for Family Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, aimed at carrying out activities to combat educational poverty and support cultural opportunities for children and minors.

Biografies:

ROBERTA FAVIA soul and often body of the Teste fiorite Lab courses Roberta Favia holds a PhD in Italian studies and classical-medieval philology with a specialization in twentieth-century literature and literary criticism. For years, she has focused mainly on children's and young adult literature through the blog testefiorite.it, as well as through virtual and in-person courses throughout Italy. She has published several works of literary criticism and participated in projects in hundreds of Italian schools.

LAURA CAPRA works in environmental education and reading promotion. Her education and professional experience have always centered around stories, which she explores through images, oral narration, and collective memory. She has developed specific expertise in using audio as an educational and workshop tool, designing activities that integrate podcasts, recordings, and collective storytelling. She is constantly seeking creative and innovative methodologies to make stories opportunities for learning, self-expression, and community participation.
