Reliquary of the sacred nail

The Reliquary of the Holy Nail contains a fragment of the Holy Nail, which according to religious tradition was used during the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. These fragments arrived in the West as generous gifts from emperors or were traded as valuable items. Originally, these relics were likely for personal use and only later became objects of public veneration. The reliquary is made of gilded silver, enriched with precious enamels, and contains two rock crystal cups, probably of Venetian manufacture.
