Funerary monument of Rector Giovanni Battista Tondi

The sepulchral monument in white marble is by Giovanni Battista Tondi, who was the rector from 1505 to 1507. He was buried in the church of the Most Holy Annunciation , the deceased is depicted in three-quarter view, reclining in a niche, wearing the rector's robe and a cross on his chest, where the ladder is, symbol of the hospital. The hands are crossed on the abdomen, while the head rests on three cushions of different workmanship, the upper one damask-patterned with floral sprays.
