Sunday 15 March at 5:30 PM, in the Italo Calvino Hall, the seminar will be held "Gianni Berengo Gardin the photographer of reality" curated by Fulvio Merlak, Honorary President of FIAF.
A few months after the death of Gianni Berengo Gardin (2025), the seminar is a tribute to one of the foremost figures in documentary photography, a reference point in Italy and abroad. With his rigorous and humane eye, he influenced generations of photographers and received major international recognitions, including the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (1995) and the Leica Hall of Fame Award (2017).
His vast archive remains an essential testimony to Italian history and to the value of photography as a tool for narrating reality.
