From March to December 2026 the Santa Maria della Scala hosts some events of the third edition of BODY SPEAKING – Your body speaks, a participatory art project that places contemporary dance, live music and cultural heritage in dialogue.
Conceived and directed by choreographer Francesca Lettieri and produced by ADARTE, the project involves the museum together with the DSU University Residences of Siena in a program aimed particularly at university students and young people, but open to the whole community.
The project offers a program of workshops, meetings and public presentations that explore the body as a space of memory, narration and shared experience, relating contemporary artistic practices and cultural heritage.
The partner network brings together cultural, educational and social institutions: Fondazione Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala, Siena Jazz – National Academy of Jazz, Cooperativa Sociale Arancia Blu and Regional Agency for the Right to University Study of Tuscany, with the collaboration of the Altana Cultural Association and of the system of the pharmacies of the territory Federfarma Siena and ASP City of Siena.
BODY SPEAKING is supported by University of Siena and Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation within the project Community Hub – Hybrid Cultures.
